Service declaration 2015-2018

To all students

Good quality of education depends on a secure and predictable learning situation. We want students at Østfold University College (HiØ) to receive a high-quality education in a learning environment characterised by closeness and diversity. Students should be offered an inclusive, flexible and accessible environment.

The Student Parliament (SpiØ), HiØ and the Student Welfare Organisation for Østfold (SiØ) have prepared this service declaration, which describes mutual obligations and expectations so that, together, we can create a stimulating overall learning environment.

We will succeed together!

What is the service declaration?

The service declaration contains useful information about what obligations HiØ undertakes in relation to you and what we expect from you as a student. The service declaration is also a useful tool in our quality assurance process and in the further development of our services. We invite students to provide feedback if a service is not up to standard.

The service declaration is not legally binding. The legal rights of students are provided for in the Act relating to Universities and University Colleges, the Public Administration Act, internal regulations and guidelines and in programme descriptions etc.

The service declaration shall be valid for the period 2015–2018.

Student welfare

The student welfare organisation for Østfold (SiØ) is the student service organisation and provides many services: student housing, canteens, coffee bars, bookshops, counselling and health services, psychologists, a health expenses support scheme and support scheme for students who have accidents, and a culture support scheme for student associations. The board of SiØ is controlled by its users, as the majority of its members are student representatives, and can decide to establish new or make changes to existing student welfare measures. Student welfare work depends on close cooperation and active dialogue between SiØ, HiØ, the student associations and the Student Parliament.
