Development of High Performance Multi-functional Concrete Admixtures
In this project we are working on developing new concrete admixtures. These admixtures will be developed from polymers that are partly based on CO2. By utilizing CO2 in this way, we can make a small reduction in the emissions of this greenhouse gas. The aim is to reduce the water demand of the conctrte, gain good flow properties so the concrete can easily be molded to the desired shape, and obtain a concrete with enhanced frost resistance while retaining good mechanical strength. In addition, we are trying to develop rust inhibitors that can be added to concrete to prevent corrosion of steel reinforcements.
