Six individual MA Performance students will share part of phase one of their research, in a series of open events this fall. NTA’s study plan for the MA Performance research project is organised as a series of public events happening between fall and spring of the second year of the course, organised in two phases, rather than a single final MA production.


* Please notice that two of the sharings are presented at Litteraturhuset, and the other four sharings are presented at Norwegian Theatre Academy. All of them in Fredrikstad.

Norwegian Theatre Academy offers two MA programs, MA in Scenography and MA in Performance. The application deadline for both programs is December 1 this year, and the application portal is now open.

After eight years working as a costume designer in London, Annike Flo decided she was ready for her personal master project in scenography at Norwegian Theatre Academy.

Bachelor students in acting and scenography have recieved their diplomas and are on their way into the world as professionals. Congratulations to you all, we are very proud! NTA is now closing down for summer holidays, and to prepare for new bachelor classes arriving in August.

Marina Popovic (31) has been busy since graduating her acting studies at Norwegian Theatre Academy. She has been touring internationally and acted in several projects for stage and screen. She is now working in a full time position at the regional theatre Teater Ibsen in Skien. Read the alumni student interview to learn more about being an acting student at NTA.

On Friday 25th January 2019, " Orfeus stiger ner" opened in Dramatens Elverket in Stockholm, where our 3rd year scenography student Miriam Myrthel Pedersen has been an incredibly fabulous director's and scenographer's assistant, and Serge von Arx (artistic director for scenography) was in charge of the scenography.

Serge von Arx has recently published an article in Theatre and Performance Design, an international peer-reviewed journal of scenography. Publishing innovative artistic practice alongside theoretical research, the journal critically evaluates the effect of scenography on the aesthetics and politics of performance and facilitates dialogue amongst practitioners, scholars, and audience.
