Birgit Leick giving a key note presentation on institutional entrepreneurs in rural regions

Birgit Leick, Associate Professor in Business Economics and current leader of the research group Business Development and Governance, was invited to the Austrian Academy of Sciences to present her research on institutional entrepreneurs, demographic change and regional economic development.

Cross-border shopping is a big business in the Svinesund region and contributes to its economic growth. On Monday, 13 May 2019, the research group Business Development and Governance invited to a discussion with Svinesundskommittén Strömstad (Sweden) and the Mayor of Halden. The event was part of a field excursion with urban/regional planning students from Lund University (Sweden).

Two researchers in economics and business administration from Østfold University College took part in a funded NFR-DAAD project on borders, border practices and regional economic development including a student excursion in the Svinesund cross-border region.
