Coordination and Service Development

The overarching goal of this theme is to explore collaboration and work organization that promotes comprehensive and coordinated follow-up of children, young people, and their families who are in need of various welfare services. CHANGE strengthens collaboration at the individual level, where children and young people themselves are involved in the decision-making process.

CHANGE develops collaboration at the service and system levels together with the practice field in the health, welfare, and upbringing sectors through new collaboration and coordination models. CHANGE develops holistic and integrated services to meet the individual needs of children and young people.

Examples of issues that CHANGE works with:

  • How can co-creation with children, young people, and their families contribute to better inclusion of children and young people in education, leisure, and working life?
  • How and why can cross-sector collaboration and coordination break down silos and contribute to more comprehensive services for children and young people with complex needs?
  • How can leadership and organization of services contribute to a holistic approach and continuity in work with vulnerable children and youth?
  • How can collective competence development and leadership help increase professionals' resilience and prevent turnover?
  • What are the benefits of holistic services related to vulnerable children and youth at the individual, organizational, and societal levels?

CHANGE will contribute to knowledge about what promotes user involvement and collaboration between different actors. Service development through co-creation and new forms of work organization can contribute to a holistic and coordinated effort that ensures better inclusion of children and youth. The results from the research will provide concrete tools and strategies to improve collaboration between different services, strengthen leadership and organization, and ensure that service development is adapted to the needs of vulnerable children and youth.
