CHANGE aims to strengthen the competence of decision-makers and service providers regarding children and young people's experiences of their own physical, mental, and social health, and how this is influenced by factors across different arenas such as family, kindergarten, school, living and local environment, social networks, and leisure activities.
Examples of issues CHANGE will work on:
- How do children and young people experience the psychological, physiological, and social aspects of their bodies, and how can we understand the impact of factors such as physical activity and the use of digital media on health and life skills?
- How do various public actors understand and manage their legal and moral responsibility to ensure the public health and life skills of children and young people?
- In what ways do public, voluntary, and commercial actors collaborate to promote public health and life skills, and how are children and young people's own perspectives taken into account in this work?
- How can we develop, implement, and explore experiences and effects of innovative, research-based tools and forms of collaboration to improve efforts toward children's and young people's public health and life skills?
CHANGE will contribute knowledge about public health and life skills among children and young people with the aim of strengthening their resilience and sense of mastery and meaning in life. By focusing on the development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive and universal approaches across levels and sectors, the topic will contribute to sustainable and better-coordinated solutions. The goal is to develop concrete tools and strategies to strengthen collaboration between public, volunteer, and commercial actors who are significant for the lives and development of children and young people.
