Connections to the Curriculum in English: This fairy tale like story addresses Internet safety; it can contribute to developing students’ critical and reflected behaviour online. Furthermore, this is a rhyming story and encourages young learners to explore the rhythm of the English language and work with pronunciation.

Summary: This is the story about Chicken who sneaks into Farmer’s house every night and shops online using Farmer’s computer: a hundred handbags, scooters for the sheep, skates for the swine, a car for the cows etc. After some time, Chicken starts feeling lonely and decides to find an online friend: “She put her photograph online, she gave her name and age. CLICK! Another chick appeared upon the friendship page.” Without telling her mum and dad, Chicken sets off to meet her new friend who turns out    not be a chick at all, but someone else, a fox!
