Summary: This book tells the story of Grace, an African girl, who lives with her Ma, Nana and a cat called Paw-Paw in England. Her parents split up when she was a little girl, and her father went back to Gambia where he has a new family. Grace loves to read and make up stories, but she cannot find any stories about families like hers. Nana says, “Families are what you make them”. One day, she receives a letter from his father inviting her and Nana to visit him in Gambia. The two of them travel to Gambia; at first it is difficult for Grace to accept her new family, but, gradually, she finds her way to manage two families.
