Summary: Laura’s mother died some time ago, and now she is living together with her father and her stepmother, Jane. Each button tells a story of her family’s history, one button is from her mother’s wedding dress, but the one she cherishes the most is from the nightgown her mother was wearing the day she died. One day the string breaks, and her dad and  Jane help her to find all the buttons. One is missing, and Jane searches for it until she finds it.
