Halden is an idyllic small town with about 30,000 inhabitants and is beautifully located by the Iddefjord and the foot of the majestic Fredriksten fortress. It is and IT city in great growth, and as a student you live cheaply and relatively centrally with only 1 hour and 45 minutes by train to Oslo. There are great nature, recreation and sports experiences, and the sports cabins in both Høyås and Ertemarka is with light trails known and well-visited excursion destinations for active people. Halden also has a very active cultural life.
