Content
- The tasks and functions of operating systems.
- The operating systems Linux and Windows.
- The program language C/C++.
- Processes and threads. Synchronizing. Interprocess communication.
- Operating systems applied in embedded systems.
Teaching and learning methods
Lectures, exercises and a project work, 4 hours of lectures per week.
Coursework requirements - conditions for taking the exam
The Windows module: 5 exercises and one project are mandatory, and must be approved before the final exam.

Written exam
4 hours written exam. Scale A-F.
Permitted aids:
- Three A4-papers (six pages) with the student's own notes.
- The textbook "A Practical guide to Red Hat Linux".
