Content

The introductory theoretical part concern an extended text concept in addition to central literary scientific and literary didactic themes.

Developing specific teaching projects is central in this subject. Based on the extended concept of text and the topics covered in the teaching, the students themselves must select texts that they believe are suitable as a starting point for specific teaching projects. This requires them to use the library actively and familiarize themselves with the necessary library, media and ICT resources.

Teaching and learning methods

Through online meetings, the main themes of the course are presented and discussed; through group work, student-active learning is emphasized to challenge students' critical thinking and independence, as well as to motivate them for further work.

Emphasis is placed on individual learning and collaborative learning, both synchronously and asynchronously on the university's learning platform. Individual support occurs through ongoing guidance in connection with assignments and preparation of the semester paper, in the form of feedback on the learning platform and / or in online meetings.

The various group features of the learning platform facilitate academic discussions, where students in smaller groups share and discuss each other's work and provide feedback through peer review.

The online meetings are not compulsory, but it is a great advantage to follow the teaching regularly and participate actively.

Workload

Approximately 280 hours.

Coursework requirements - conditions for taking the exam

The students are required to:

  • complete between one to three assignments (oral and/or written). The assignment(-s) are to be carried out according to specified criteria published on the learning platform.

The required coursework is assessed as approved / not approved. Required coursework must be approved before the student can proceed to the examination.

Exam

Individual Written Semester Assignment

The semester assignment is intended to be a didactic plan for the use of literature and other types of texts in the classroom. The teaching plan should have both a literary and a didactic foundation. The work is to be written in German and should have a length of approximately 3000-3500 words.

The assignment topic must be approved by the subject teacher.

The assignment is expected to include a bibliography and appropriate referencing. The evaluation will emphasize the level of reflection, level of knowledge, and language skills.

Grading Scale: A-F.

Examiners

Internal or external examiner(-s).

Conditions for resit/rescheduled exams

If the student does not pass the semester assignment, it may be reworked once. If the student wishes to improve the passing grade, the student must choose a new topic and submit a new assignment. This is done in consultation with the course teacher.
