This study was a part of Geir Torgersen’s PhD-study and is an ongoing project in cooperation with Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). A survey of people´s willingness-to-pay in order to avoid welfare loss due to fear of flooding in urban areas will be performed. While there are many studies valuing the material and health damages of floods, little is done in the area of valuing the insecurity people feel when faced with the risk of flooding (and other natural disasters).
This project was partly funded by Norwegian Water and Finance Norway. The project ran from Spring 2015 until Summer 2017.
