Academic interests
I have a background as social scientist and have a master's degree in social anthropology and a PhD in sociology. In addition, I have been Postdoctoral Fellow, Researcher, and Associate Professor in sociology and been a school and education researcher. Research on school and education has been my research interest since 2007, and after 2010 digitalization of school, higher education and in organizations have been primary research interests.
I have developed several MOOCs and online courses, in Norwegian and English, which I have also researched. I am mainly inspired by research perspectives from organizational research and sociology and focus on how digital technologies are used in organizations, as well as among people and in society at large. I have taught in organisational and management subjects at master's level in digitalization and digital competence. I have advised several master students who study use of digital technologies.
In 2019 I was awarded the price “This year’s online teacher”.
