Parking and transportation to the University College

Parking

Parking at Østfold University College shall only take place in designated places. In both Halden and Fredrikstad, there are clearly stated parking spaces for cars, electric cars, motorcycles / bicycles and the disabled.

Parking spaces for electric cars are not permitted for use by hybrid cars. Fines can be imposed on those who e.g. park outside marked fields or designated parking space. The same applies to hybrid cars that park in electric car spaces. These are only reserved for electric cars.

It is important that all HiØ's students, employees and visitors follow the parking instructions described with signs on both Remmen and Kråkerøy. This is to ensure access for rescue vehicles, prevent damage to park facilities, accidents due to congestion - and avoid confinement.

Important information for electric car users

A new system for payment of charging will be introduced from 23 August 2023 at 0700.

  • Short term up to 4 hours and 4 spaces (M built): NOK 5 per kw + NOK 10 per hour after 4 hours of parking. If charging continues after 4 hours, it will cost NOK 5 per kw in addition.

Bike parking

There is bicycle parking at both campuses in marked areas. There is also a superstructure so you can leave your bike dry and well.

In Fredrikstad, there are also lockable lockers with charging options. You will find the bicycle cage in the parking garage at Smia. Bicycles, electric scooters or other similar vehicles, including battery packs for these, must not be brought in. This also applies if you have your own office. Nor should they be placed in the immediate vicinity of entrances
