About us

The PhD Forum is an independent, non-political, non-religious, voluntary, non-profit, and democratic organisation that represents the collective interests of all PhD candidates at Østfold University of Applied Sciences. All PhD research fellows are welcome, and we strive to provide a friendly and supportive environment for everyone.

The PhD Forum is also a member of Stipendiatorganisasjonene i Norge (SiN - Association of Doctoral Organisations in Norway).

Our Objectives

The main objectives of the PhD Forum are to address common interests regarding:

  • The working, study, and research conditions.
  • Support to the development of professional interests and careers.
  • Respect and fulfilment of all the rights and duties at ØUC.
  • Ethical issues regarding work, studies and research.
  • Organisation of open discussions and/or seminars regarding relevant issues in science and society.
  • Organisation of social events.

History

The PhD Forum was constituted on the 10th of March 2020 by unanimous vote of all PhD fellows present. The aim of the forum, as stated by ou Director of Research Trine Eker Christoffersen, is "to be a forum created by the PhDs and for the PhDs".
