SPSS is a comprehensive software package for statistical analysis and data management. The software offers a wide range of methods, including ad hoc analyses, hypothesis testing, and report generation. This helps simplify the process of organizing data, selecting and conducting analyses, and communicating results.
Installation for students
- Download and run the installation file (download links are found at the bottom of this page).
- Click "Next" and accept the terms.
- If asked whether you wish to install "Essentials for Python," select "No" (unless you plan to program in Python).
- Follow the installation wizard until installation is finished.
When starting the program for the first time, you need to activate the license as follows:
- Make sure you are connected to a VPN.
- In SPSS, select "Concurrent User License," and click "Next."
- Then choose "License Management" and provide the name of the license server: fliss.hiof.no
SPSS checks the connection to the license server each time the program starts, so it is important to be connected to a VPN if you are not on campus.
