Academic interests
I primarily research intensive care unit (ICU) patients, studying them during ICU stay, on the ward, and after hospital discharge. My work focuses on symptoms, especially pain, as well as respiratory distress, PTSD, anxiety, and depression. Recently I have studied digital interventions and artificial intelligence for this patient group. I supervise three PhD candidates as main supervisor and several master’s students.

I primarily teach at the master’s level in nurse anesthetics, intensive care nursing, perioperative nursing, and advanced clinical primary care nursing, and also teach continuing education in emergency nursing and bachelor programs in nursing and paramedicine.
