About the Department
The Department of Welfare, Management and Organisation is one of the two departments within the Faculty of Health, Welfare and Organisation. The department has approximately 1175 students and 76 employees.
The Department consists of a large and active academic environment that spans several disciplines. All academic areas within the department embrace a strong commitment to teaching and research. The department offers a variety of bachelor level degrees including: child welfare, social welfare, social work, and work and welfare subjects. In addition, the department offers continuing education courses such as violence in close relationships, measures against sexual abuse and several continuing courses in collaboration with HiØ’s Centre for Continuing Education (HiØ Videre) Furthermore, the department offers master's degree programs in organisation and management, in the coordination of health and welfare services, and in psychosocial work. Finally, the department is actively working on the establishment of a master’s degree program in child welfare.
