Om prosjektet

In this thesis we are developing a power distribution circuit board for an unmanned ground vehicle. The vehicle will be fitted with a range of cameras and sensors so that the vehicle can create a 3-dimensional map of an area. This is very useful in areas that are dangerous to humans, like in a nuclear reactor that has experienced a meltdown. We are working on this project together with IFE (Institutt For Energiteknikk) in Halden, they have extensive experience with both nuclear research and development of un-manned vehicles.

This topic is very important in the age we are in, where the world needs more green energy and nuclear power is one of the most cost effective and reliable alternatives. The public and politicians in Norway especially are skeptical to the development of nuclear power because of previous incidents, therefore our product will ease their mind because we can now first send robots into the reactors to determine if it is safe for humans to go inside thus reducing the risk of injuries and radiation exposure.

Om oppdragsgiveren

Since 1948, IFE have been a frontrunner in international energy research. The knowledge they have developed has saved the petroleum industry several hundred billion Norwegian kroner. IFE have contributed to the development of ground-breaking cancer medicine, new solutions in renewable energy, more energy-efficient industrial process-es, zero-emission transport solutions and future-oriented energy systems.
