Om prosjektet
Project explores how entrepreneurial practice can be applied to develop an innovative and socially beneficial product – Marova, a women’s swimsuit with an integrated life-saving function. The product combines aesthetic design, functionality, and personal safety into one holistic solution. At its core lies a discreet, CO₂-based inflatable system that can be activated automatically, providing essential buoyancy in situations where the user experiences panic, falls unexpectedly into water, or lacks swimming ability.
The project is based on a clearly identified need for safety-enhancing equipment among women and other vulnerable groups who feel insecure in aquatic environments. Through an interdisciplinary approach, the project investigates how a life-preserving product can be developed without compromising on comfort or appearance – thus challenging the traditional divide between swimwear fashion and safety equipment.
The methodological framework combines market analysis, idea development, user involvement, and prototype design. In parallel, the project assesses technological possibilities, sustainable material choices, regulatory considerations, and business models to prepare the product for commercialization.
The overarching goal of the project is to develop a market-ready solution that can help reduce drowning incidents, while demonstrating how innovation can merge safety, aesthetics, and entrepreneurship in practice.
