Om prosjektet

Our bachelor project transforms the NIST Privacy Framework into an interactive and gamified learning experience via a responsive web application. The goal is to make this complex framework more accessible and engaging for students, developers, UX designers, and professionals working with privacy and data protection.

The content is structured around the five core functions of the NIST Privacy Framework—Identify-P, Govern-P, Control-C, Communicate-C, and Protect-P. Each function has its own dedicated learning module, where users can explore the categories and subcategories through intuitive, structured content. To support engagement and retention, these modules include gamified elements such as avatars, progress tracking, and badge collection.

After completing the modules, users can test their understanding through quizzes and minigames, which are designed to reinforce learning and provide a fun challenge. These assessments are separate from the core modules but tightly integrated into the overall user journey to support active learning.

The platform also includes user login and an online leaderboard, allowing users to create accounts, track their progress, and compare scores with others. This social and competitive aspect adds motivation and makes the experience more dynamic.

We’ve kept the technical setup simple and focused on front-end interaction and usability, avoiding AI features or complex backend systems beyond essential user functionality.

The result is a gamified, approachable tool that makes privacy training more enjoyable and effective, turning a dense standard into something practical and even fun.
