March 31st 2026 marks the official start of our NordForsk research project "Generative AI in Education for Young Adults" (GAIYA). The project has a Nordic-Baltic consortium and aims is to explore upper secondary students' and teachers' use of generative AI in the Norwegian, Danish and Swedish (L1) subjects, as well as educational policy and implementation across Scandinavia, Finland and Estonia.

In connection with the upcoming start of GAIYA we, Ilka Nagel and Stine Brynildsen as project partners from OUAS, were invited to present the aim and scope at a seminar arranged by the OUAS AI Hub. The seminar focused on AI projects for education at our insitution and was opened by our pro-rector of education and public relations, Elisabeth Jeppesen.
Ilka Nagel and Stine Brynildsen then introduced the project to listeners who were present both in person and via video stream. In the presentation we gave an overall view of the aims and project partners. The entire presentation can be accessed in these slides, for those who are interested to know more.
We look forward to starting this project period, which last until 2030 and will keep updating our work and findings at the project's website.
