CAS is located at Drammensveien 78, in the historic premises of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters.
Being admitted to CAS is a prestigious recognition.
The centre, which is affiliated with the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters, aims to promote outstanding, curiosity-driven research across the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities. Researchers are given uninterrupted time for research in an exclusive environment with strong administrative support.
– I am very proud that Østfold University College has been admitted to this community, says vice-rector for research, Ellen-Marie Forsberg.
– This is a recognition that OUAS has significantly strengthened its research capacity over the past ten years. I hope we will see many strong applications from OUAS researchers, and that this community will contribute to developing both us and our partners, for the benefit of society.

Opportunities for OUAS researchers
The membership enables OUAS researchers to apply for funding through CAS calls. The centre regularly announces funding for research projects involving international research teams, and receiving such funding is considered career-advancing and highly prestigious within research communities. The most important calls are the CAS Research Grant and the Young CAS Grant, which are published annually.
