- Registration for ordinary exams takes place when you complete your semester registration in Studentweb.
- If you are planning to resit an exam, you are responsible for registering yourself for a postponed (re-scheduled) exam.
NB! Course descriptions may contain specific information regarding when postponed exams can be arranged.
Registration for ordinary exams
An ordinary exam is the original assessment in a course taken by students following the normal course progression.
You register for exams when you complete your semester registration in Studentweb each semester:
- Autumn: from 1 August, and no later than 1 September
- Spring: from 1 December, and no later than 15 January
Registration for postponed exams
(re-scheduled exams)
A postponed exam is an examination arranged for students who have either had approved absence from or have failed the ordinary exam.
Register for a postponed exam (re-scheduled exam):
I withdrew before the exam
If you withdraw from an exam before the deadline, this will not count as an exam attempt. You can withdraw from an exam through Studentweb.
The deadline to withdraw is two weeks before the exam date.
You are responsible for registering yourself for the exam at the next available opportunity.
I was withdrawn from the exam due to a non-approved coursework requirement
If you were withdrawn from the exam because a coursework requirement was not approved, you must re-register for the course.
Please contact your student adviser for assistance with the registration process.
I was ill on the day of the exam
If you are ill on the day of the exam, you must submit a medical certificate to the Examinations Office no later than one week after the exam date. If you fail to submit the medical certificate within the deadline, the exam will count as one exam attempt.
If your absence from the exam is approved as valid absence, you may register for a postponed exam. You are responsible for registering yourself for the exam at the next available opportunity.
I did not attend the exam
If you did not attend the exam, this will count as an exam attempt.
You are responsible for registering yourself for the exam at the next available opportunity.
I attended the exam but withdrew partway
If you attended but withdrew during the exam, without a valid reason, this will count as an exam attempt.
You are responsible for registering yourself for the exam at the next available opportunity.
I failed the examination
If you have failed the ordinary examination, you are entitled to take a postponed exam, provided that at least three students (or two students for cohorts of up to 20 students) who failed the most recent ordinary examination register for it.
You are responsible for registering yourself for the exam at the next available opportunity.
I want to improve my grade
If you wish to improve your grade, you must wait until the next ordinary examination. In some cases, you may be allowed to register for an already scheduled postponed exam.
You are responsible for registering yourself for the exam at the next available opportunity.
