With SIMBIO, we explore how simulation-based learning can unite theory and practice. Our goal is to create future learning methods that give nurses deep understanding of bioscience and self-efficacy in complex clinical situations.

About the project

SIMBIO explores how collaborative learning in simulated scenarios can strengthen the integration of bioscience into nursing practice. Simulation provides a safe environment where students apply theory in realistic situations and develop clinical understanding. The project examines how different simulation-based interventions influence students’ emotions, self-efficacy, collaboration, and learning outcomes to promote comprehensive professional learning.

Bioscience subjects such as anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry are taught early in health education and are often perceived as challenging due to their complexity and high volume of specialized terminology. Through collaborative learning in simulation, students are encouraged to actively participate, share knowledge, and support each other, creating a dynamic learning process. The goal is to develop teaching methods that reduce barriers between theory and practice and give nurses confidence in complex clinical situations.
