Academic interests
Research area; prehospital emergency medicine. Special attention to cardiac arrest and stroke in emergency medical dispatch centres and development of digital decision support systems based on machine learning. In accordance to the phd program "The digital society", future research projects will focus on digitalisation in handling critically ill patients.
Ongoing research projects:
- Dispatch-NASPP - The Dispatch –Norwegian Acute Stroke Prehospital Project. Management of suspected stroke in Emergency Medical Dispatch. This is part of a large study concerning assessment and treatment of suspected acute stroke prehospital and inhospital (PARA-NASPP). Cooperation with Oslo University hospital, Nordland hospital, OsloMet and Norwegian National Advisory Unit on Prehospital Emergency Medicine (NAKOS).
- Predict; Developing decision support systems for detection of deep vein thrombosis using artificial intelligence
- Substudy "PARA-NASPP"; Paramedics experience of using a digital tool (an app) for assessment of suspected stroke in ambulances.
- Cardiac arrest and resuscitation in pregnancy
- Cardiac arrest in athletes.
