The IRG Symposium 2026 is made possible in cooperation with Hvaler kommune and Testarena Skagerrak.
The Innovation Research Group (IRG) was established in 2014 to conduct and disseminate high-quality research in innovation. To achieve its mission, IRG is committed to organise academic writing workshops and symposia. Special theme in the 10th academic writing workshop is the Interreg ØKS Greenbizz2 project draft.
We are pleased to host Julia FROMM, a multidisciplinary artist and researcher at the University of Applied Arts, Vienna, and a DOC Fellow of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. Her current research focuses on tactile design for adolescents with chronic pain. We invites students and faculty at Østfold University College to experience a fresh, art‑based approach to design thinking. The session foregrounds empathetic exchange, deep listening, and intersubjective understanding as practical design capacities that bridge sensing and making.
The IRG Symposium 2025 on Facilitating Resilience Embracing Islands Innovation is supported by the Interreg FREIIA project on location at Strømtangen lighthouse part of The lighthouse workshop for environment, tourism and innovation.
