Academic writing workshop: manuscripts, project drafts and new collaboration

This week, the Innovation Research Group (IRG) met on Hvaler for the 10th IRG Academic Writing Workshop, with a shared focus on developing manuscripts and project outlines connected to the Interreg ØKS Circulær omstilling i praksis project that we are setting up with our Danish friends. Following IRG’s established workshop format, the program combined short plenary sessions with longer, uninterrupted writing blocks, and a dedicated slot for presentation and discussion of manuscripts and project sketches.

Hvaler gjestgiveri

12 researchers and partners from Norway and Denmark met for discussing results from the Interreg FREIIA project. The workshop represented the 10. Academic writing workshop in the Innovation research group (IRG) and the fourth time at beautiful Hvaler gjestgiveri.

From status round to writing sprints

The workshop opened with status and plans for Interreg ØKS Circulær omstilling i praksis, og Researchers night & BIP part of the research week 2026 with our project developer Bjørn Gitle Hauge.

We continued with a round-table where participants shared progress and concrete writing goals ranging from journal articles and conference contributions, to PhD-related writing.

Key inputs: projects in motion and “from I to We”

A featured session, “From ‘I’ to ‘We’,” highlighted collaboration as more than task-splitting—emphasising psychological safety, trust and practical strategies for better teamwork in research and education.

The writing workshop concluded with a summary of progression and status for the writing initiatives, from educational conference contributions to articles in peer reviewed international journals, and the final work on the PhD thesis'.
