The proposed project is coordinated by Innovatum Science Center AB, with partners including Fredrikstad kommune, Trollhättans Stad, Limfjordsmuseet, Visit Fredrikstad & Hvaler, and knowledge institutions from across the region. The project period is planned from January 2027 to June 2029.

A key objective of KRAFT is to strengthen the innovation capacity of small and medium-sized enterprises within the experience economy. Through cross-border collaboration, businesses, public authorities, cultural institutions, and knowledge environments will work together to develop new products, services, business models, and partnerships rooted in cultural heritage.

The project proposes the development of a shared KRAFT model, combining competence development, innovation processes, pilot activities, and living laboratories in cultural heritage environments. Expected outcomes include new tourism products, strengthened innovation ecosystems, new business collaborations, and practical methods that can be transferred to other destinations across the Øresund-Kattegat-Skagerrak region.

For the Research Group for Innovation at Østfold University College, the project represents an important opportunity to contribute research-based knowledge, student engagement, innovation methodology, and cross-border learning processes. Through participation in KRAFT, the group aims to strengthen the connection between research, education, cultural heritage, and business development while supporting sustainable regional transformation.

The partners have worked intensively throughout 2026 to develop the application, building on experiences from previous cross-border collaborations. With the application now submitted, the consortium looks forward to the evaluation process and the possibility of launching an ambitious international initiative that positions cultural heritage as a driver of innovation and regional competitiveness.
