Interview with John Mounadi from Republicans Abroad

Dr. Michael Nitz (Ph.D., Arizona) is a professor in the department of communication studies. He is also the coordinator of Norwegian programs. He teaches the basic course in communication, as well as "Communication Research," "Public Relations," "Persuasion," "Mass Media Effects," "Persuasive Campaigns," and "International Communication." He is a Fulbright Scholar whose research interests are in international media coverage of political and environmental issues, as well as the role of late-night television comedy in the political process. He recently received Augustana’s Jane Zaloudek Research Fellowship Award for work on Norwegian/German media coverage of the U.S. Presidential election. He is the campus advisor for PRSSA (PR Student Society of America) chapter and has led several International PR courses in Europe.

Conrad Pederson is a 22-year-old senior at the University of North Dakota studying social studies education. He comes from a rural community of less than 100 people which has positively shaped the way he sees the world and the issues he cares about. Government and politics interested him since a young age and while he has not actively engaged much with them, he has ensured that his vote gets counted in each election and primary. Currently he works as a paraprofessional at an elementary school and have previously worked in retail at a national park, as a server at a restaurant, and in lawncare.

Elin Strand Larsen vil holde innlegget «Det amerikanke valget som en mediebegivenhet». Elin har en doktorgrad i medier og journalistikk fra Universitetet i Oslo 2014. I doktorgradsavhandlingen: Når kvinne må si unnskyld... Medierte skandaler, kvinnelige politikere og retoriske forsvarsstrategier, tar hun for seg åtte kvinnelige politikere og LO-ledere -  deres retoriske forsvar knyttet til et utvalg politiske skandaler. I dag underviser og veileder hun studenter som tar en bachelorgrad i Internasjonal Kommunikasjon ved Høgskolen i Østfold. Hun er også nestleder for forskergruppen AreaS.

Harald Borgebund har en doktorgrad i politisk filosofi fra University of York, UK. Undervisnings- og forskningsinteresser er demokratiteori og liberal politisk tenkning. For tiden arbeider han med en bok for Universitetsforlaget om demokratiets historie og idegrunnlag. I tillegg jobber han med flere artikler om demokrati, demokratis danning og forholdet mellom teknologi og demokrati.

Sondre Lindahl har en doktorgrad i fred og konflikstudier fra University of Otago, New Zealand. Sondre forsker primært på terrorisme, og jobber for tiden med en bok for Fagbokforlaget om ulike modeller for bekjempelse av terrorisme. Sondre underviser blant annet i fagene Internasjonal politikk, og Komparativ Politikk ved HiØ. Sammen med Harald Borgebund produserer han podcasten Statsvitenskap og sånt.

Betty Houchin Winfield, a University of Missouri Curators' Professor Emerita,  specializes in political communication.  Her research areas include news management (FDR & The News Media), Free Expression during War (Two-Commanders in Chief: Free Expression's Most Severe Tests), news coverage of the First Ladies and White House Communication.  In 2012 Winfield was a Fulbright Distinguished Chair in American Studies at the University of Warsaw.

John Mounadi from Republicans abroad:  Born and raised in the capital of the United States, John has invested time and effort in defending and supporting constitutional and conservative principles throughout the years; issues ranging from the Second Amendment to opposing FATCA.
