Academic interests

1. Qualitative inquiry and the politics of that inquiry.

  • The development and impact of qualitative inquiry able to assist in understanding social inequalities
  • The rise of metrics and altmetrics and what this means for the way that research and research performance is thought about.
  • Mixed methods, multiple methods and research programs.

2. Intersections between people and the organisational and social contexts in which they live and work. Intersections such as:

  • Structured social inequalities and the refraction of them in light of neo-liberal influenced management and organisational change.
  • The rise of metrics and altmetrics and what this means for the way that work and work place performance is thought about, and the way that health and higher education is organised and managed.

  • I am responsible for courses in Research Design and Qualitative Research

  • Extensive experience in PhD and Masters by Research supervision and examination. Currently co-supervisor for 2 PhD students.
