Doctoral research project
Title: Professional knowledge in motion - A study of epistemic relations in technology-enhanced simulation in teacher education
My doctoral research is part of KITES (Knowledge Integration in Teacher Education through Technology-Enhanced Simulation), a research project led by Østfold University of Applied Sciences and funded by the Research Council of Norway (2026–2030). KITES is carried out in collaboration with OsloMet - Oslo Metropolitan University, Aalborg University, Indre Østfold Municipality, and The Education Union Østfold. In my doctoral project, I examine how epistemic relations are constructed, enacted, and reconstructed through technology-enhanced simulation in teacher education.
Supervisors: Professor Ingeborg Hognestad Krange and Associate Professor Galina Shavard.
Background
I am a PhD Research Fellow at the Faculty of Teacher Education and Languages and affiliated with the PhD programme Digitalisation and Society. I hold a Master's degree in Educational Sciences with a specialisation in pedagogy. Before starting my PhD, I worked for ten years as a primary school teacher and for two years as a school leader in Halden Municipality.
Prior to my doctoral studies, I served as project manager for the Teacher Education Schools initiative at Østfold University College. Through my work on partnerships between campus and schools, practice-oriented development projects, and simulation as a pedagogical method, I developed a particular interest in how different forms of knowledge are expressed and integrated in teacher education. These experiences form an important foundation for my research.
