General project description

Digital transformation in schools remains a major challenge, especially with rapid AI-driven technological change. School leaders play a crucial role in this process. This project aims to develop a framework and teaching resources for school leadership and digital transformation, supporting Nordic school leaders in navigating digital change while fostering partnerships between teacher educators and school leaders. Through a series of workshops, school leaders and teacher educators will analyse digital transformation needs and develop tailored action plans. The project employs scenario development as a key methodology, enabling school leaders to anticipate and respond to future digital challenges. These workshops serve as the project’s core, fostering knowledge exchange and strategic planning. Collaboration between schools and higher education institutions is central to this initiative. School leaders bring real-world cases to the table, while teacher educators contribute theoretical insights and research-based guidance, bridging the gap between theory and practice. By working across Sweden, Norway, and Iceland, the project will leverage diverse educational policies and digitalization practices to create adaptable strategies that address common challenges. The project seeks to strengthen school leaders’ digital leadership capabilities, contributing to local and regional school development. In the broader educational sector, it will provide freely accessible teaching materials, including workshop resources and action plans, ensuring that the insights gained benefit a wider audience. Furthermore, research findings will be shared through professional networks, scientific publications and presentations at relevant educational and research conferences.
