I am a PhD candidate affiliated with the research project Adult Acquisition of Norwegian as a Second Language (ALAN). My PhD project investigates spelling practices among adult second language learners of Norwegian. In a longitudinal case study I investigate to what extent and in what ways spelling practices change over time. Moreover I attempt to make sense of spelling practices and spelling patterns by looking at possible linguistic and external factors.
The project is supervised by associate professor Åshild Søfteland (Østfold University College), professor Ann-Kristin H. Gujord (University of Bergen) and professor Guri Bordal Steien (Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences).
Background
I graduated from The Norwegian University of Science and Technology with a master's degree in Nordic Languages and Literature. I have worked as a research assistant at NTNU and The University of Bergen, as well as a lecturer at Nordkurs at The University of Oslo.
