The section is happy to contribute to collaboration, projects and dissemination within:
Subject specific areas
Autism and neurodevelopmental conditions, Augmentative and Alternative communication (AAC), especially implementation and research-based interventions, Language and social communication, Social and emotional difficulties, seen in the context of communication, relationships and facilitation in education, training, and health.
Other relevant thematic areas
We contribute with research- and practice-based knowledge about inclusive practices in various arenas throughout the life course. We work with topics relevant to individual and system facilitation, and public health perspectives.
Academic profile and specialisation
The special education section has an internationally oriented and interdisciplinary profile and actively participates in national initiatives for local competence development in kindergarten and primary and secondary education. We are also involved in various international initiatives within our core areas. We emphasise that measures should be implemented, evaluated and further developed, not just tried out, with the goal of real and lasting change in practice.
We disseminate knowledge to both the field of practice, decision-makers and the public through our research, development projects and collaboration with the region's services.
