For current NTA students
Students accepted into degree programs at NTA are able to participate in study abroad as part of their training. Through our international network, NTA seeks to organize tailored opportunities that meet the individualized needs of our students.
What you need to do to study abroad:
- Start by discussing opportunities available with your program co-ordinator at NTA
- When you are ready to apply for exchange, you will find practical information about studying abroad here: https://www.hiof.no/studier/utveksling/ (in Norwegian)
- Submit your online application: https://www.hiof.no/english/studies/apply-to-hio-study-abroad.html
Deadline for applying for study abroad:
- March 1: for study abroad in the fall semester
- October 1: for study abroad in the spring semester
For incoming international exchange students
NTA will be accepting applications from international exchange students from our partner universities for the upcoming spring semester. NTA is able to take in a limited number of exchange students.
Step 1: Nomination
Students must be nominated by their home institution using our online nomination portal: https://www.hiof.no/english/studies/exchange-students/how-to-apply/nomination-process/index.html
Step 2: Application

Additional documents to be included in your application to NTA:
- Motivation letter (300-400 words)
- Digital portfolio*
- Curriculum Vitae
*Please provide a pdf file with a text describing the contents of your portfolio and that includes a link to a portfolio of some of your work as performer, actor, actress or scenographer. You can include video, still images and sounds.

- April 15 (nomination portal opens on March 1) for fall semester
- October 15 (nomination portal opens on September 15) for spring semester

- May 1 for fall semester
- November 1 for spring semester
