Dette sier Halverson selv om sitt foredrag:
“In some areas of Translation and Interpreting Studies (TIS), mixed and multimethod research designs are becoming increasingly common. Such designs may be adopted on the basis of various rationales, and the ways in which different types of data and analysis are combined are also numerous.
In this talk, I will outline rationales for mixed and multimethod research and introduce examples of specific ways of combining methods taken from TIS. Key emphasis will be on the role of the underlying construct(s) that is being investigated and the theoretical assumptions on which the methodology must rest.
Examples from TIS will illustrate this key role of theory in grounding methodological choice, as well as the potential contribution of mixed and multimethod designs for the investigation of some key constructs of current interest in the field.”
