(Bildetekst) INVITERER DEG TIL ÅPNE FORELESNINGER: Professor i dramaturgi og performance Camilla Eeg-Tverbakk har kuratert høstens åpne forelesningsrekke ved Akademi for scenekunst.
Nok en gang setter Akademi for scenekunst opp en spennende forelesningsrekke på noen utvalgte tirsdagskvelder utover høsten. Forelesningene er obligatoriske for Akademiets studenter, men er i tillegg åpne for publikum. Alle foregår på engelsk.
- Målgruppen er kunststudenter fra alle disipliner, og andre profesjonelle som er aktive i kunstfeltet, forteller professor i dramaturgi og performance Camilla Eeg-Tverbakk.
I samarbeid med professor og kunstnerisk leder for skuespillerprogrammet ved Akademi for scenekunst, Karmenlara Ely har hun kuratert høstens forelesningsrekke som har fått tittelen “Alternative art-futures”.
Opptatt av etikk og identitet
Akademiet har også tidligere praktisert åpne dører til noen utvalgte kveldsforelesninger og flere eksterne har vist interesse for tilbudet. Forelesningsrekken har et tematisk fokus
Hvilke temaer setter dere fokus på i de åpne forelesningene?
- Vi kan for eksempel fokusere på hvordan avant-garde kan forstås i forhold til dagens kunstpraksis, de politiske aspekter ved å iscenesette ulike former for dramatikk, eller å presentere kunstpraksiser som utfordrer normative tradisjoner og metoder for kunstproduksjon, sier Eeg-Tverbakk og legger til:
- Overordnet er vi opptatt av temaer som etikk, dramaturgi, identitet, og materialitet.
Gjesteforeleserne er aktive kunstnere og teoretikere fra det internasjonale kunstfeltet som er spesielt relevante i forhold til tematikken. Enkelte ganger inngår forelesningen som en del av en workshop ved Akademiet.
Hvorfor har Akademiet valgt å holde disse åpne forelesningene, hva er hensikten?
- Vi ønsker å tilby studenter og andre innblikk i hvordan ulike kunstnere og teoretikere problematiserer sin praksis i forhold til historiske, estetiske og aktuelle tendenser i kunstfeltet og i samfunnet. Våre foredragsrekker åpner et rom for dialog om et valgt tema over tid, og setter samtidig det valgte tema på dagsorden, forteller Eeg-Tverbakk.
Tidligere NTA-student åpner høsten
Første kunstner ut er tidligere student ved Akademi for scenekunst, Juli Apponen som foreleser den 3. oktober med tittelen “Autobiographies and the self as subject material - methods, forms and ethics”.
I høstprogrammet presenteres Apponen som “an artist originally from Finland, but mostly based in Sweden since 15 years. She works and tours internationally in different forms and collaborations as director, choreographer and performer. Her own work has been mainly evolving around a research in autobiographical solos in different ways. Juli’s work has been presented in venues as MDT Stockholm, Atalante Gothenburg, Dansstationen Malmö, Dansehallerne Copenhagen among others”.

Juli Apponen will present her work, artistic practice and concerns, mainly through talking about three of her recent performances. As the author and performer of a lecture performance, Life is hard and then you die - part 3, as performer and co-choreographer of a solo choreography in collaboration with Jon R. Skulberg, Everything Remains and most recently directing the autobiography of the dancer Sindri Runudde: Blind Boi Diaries.
Three distinctively different performances, all based in the autobiographical. In these case studies body, identity, transformation, functionality and trauma have been questioned and dissected in different ways. Apponen stiller blant annet spørsmålene: What are the implications of using yourself and your life as material? What does it mean to direct someone else autobiography? How is it to expose yourself and your story in front of an audience and what can we learn through it about ethics in performance?
Forteller om egen kunstnerisk praksis
Apponen etterfølges av Nadia Beugré and Boris Hennion den 10. Oktober med forelesningen “Practice and work”.
Nadia Beugré studied dance at the Dante Théâtre, where she explored traditional Ivorian dances. She then worked with Seydo Boro and Dorothée Munyaneza, and created her own shows. In 1997, she accompanied Béatrice Kombé in the creation of the Tché-Tché company, where she met Nina Kipré, a dancer and choreographer, and the director of the DanceRaum festival, who as a child learnt traditional dances and began her career with the Djolem Artistic Ensemble and the Lakimado company.
Boris Hennion er fransk danser, koreograf og dramaturg.
Tirsdag 31. oktober foreleser Una Chaudhuri, professor I engelsk, drama og miljøstudier ved New York University. “Chaudhuri is a pioneer in the field of “eco-theatre”— plays and performances that engage with the subjects of ecology and environment—and helped to launch that field when she guest-edited a special issue of Yale’s Theater journal in 1994”. Chaudhuri was also among the first scholars of drama and theatre to engage with another rapidly expanding new inter-disciplinary field, Animal Studies, and guested-edited a special issue of TDR: The Journal of Performance Studies, on “Animals and Performance”, heter det i programmet.
Om temaet står det følgende:
Una Chaudhuri will discuss her collaborative projects Dear Climate and Climate Lens which seek expansive, non-defensive, and "dis-anthropocentric" theatrical perspectives on the Anthropocene, the present time of geo-physical and political chaos. Both projects generate artistic events and discourses in support of an "affirmative biopolitics," in which biographical and sociological accounts of human life are re-framed within biological and geological understandings of "creaturely life."
Chaudhuri har blant annet gitt ut bøkene Animal Acts: Performing Species Today (co-edited with Holly Hughes), The Ecocide Project: Research Theatre and Climate Change (co-authored with Shonni Enelow) og The Stage Lives of Animals: Zooësis and Performance.
Kunstnerisk leder for Carte Blanche
Høstens nest siste forelesning av en internasjonal kunstner finner sted 7. November. Da gjester Hooman Sharifi Akademi for scenekunst med forelesningen “Politics of collaboration”. Sharifi er norsk med iranske røtter og er koreograf og kunstnerisk leder for Carte Blanche contemporary dance company.
I høstprogrammet heter det blant annet:
In Carte Blanche’s latest performance While they are floating, choreographer and artistic director tar Hooman Sharifi deals with the refugee crisis in an artistic form. He will speak about the artistic process and the work of embodying the stories of refugees.
Sharifi stiller spørsmålene:
How do you approach, artistically, a thematic that constantly figurate in the media? How to make a performance from such a deep and broad issue as the refugee crisis? What is its physical expression, and how do you approach another person’s reality in order then to translate it to an audience?
Det er den Sheffield-baserte artisten Cathy Naden som setter punctum for høstens spennende forelesningsrekke. Den 28. November foreleser hun om sitt eget kunstneriske arbeid.
Cathy Naden presenters som “a performer, deviser and writer. She co-founded Forced Entertainment in 1984 and has collaborated with the company on forty productions spanning theatre, live art, installation art and digital media. She has toured work to theatres, festivals and galleries in Europe, the US, Canada, Australia and South America. She regularly teaches and presents talks on her artistic practice. Cathy recently performed in Jean Racine’s Berenice with TG STAN. She has an MA in Creative Writing and writes fiction and screenplays. She is currently developing a horror feature film.”
